The Ethiopia team just finished their last day of clinic: During lunch, a small crowd of elders in the community started gathering outside our room. We quickly learned that they wanted to do a blessing for us. We all gathered on the porch surrounding an elderly women holding a bowl of water and special roasted coffee beans. After two men blessed the beans and us, others shared words of thanks for our service. Don then took this opportunity to thank them and share the love of Jesus Christ to members of several different religions. He told everyone that the water that they had blessed reminded them of Jesus Christs blood he had shed for us and that every time they drank coffee that they would remember that. As we struggled with the question throughout the week on how to make a long-term impact on a short-term mission trip, we know this opportunity came at the right time. Please continue to pray for their safe return as they get ready for the long journey back.
