The Euharlee Festival of Trees Parade is just over a week away. We sure hope our supporters make plans to visit the festival and we would love for you to come walk/ride with us on November 29! The theme for our float this year is Christmas in Heaven. You see, usually I have an idea of how I want the tree/float to look. (Even if sometimes my vision doesnt pan out like I visualize it....). However, this year it has came down to the wire in visualizing it. As I was in a store earlier this week preparing to buy a few things for the Footprints on the Heart float/tree, it finally came to me. Snowflakes. The correlation is truly magical. You see as I stared at all of the beautiful snowflakes on display, I realized that each of the 312 angel names (and the thousands of others that are not on our list) honored in October at our candle lighting ceremony were like snowflakes. Even though snowflakes are all made out of snow, they are each individual and unique. No two snow flakes are identical. Just as no two children are identical. Each of your precious babies are never to be duplicated. No matter if you were able to have subsequent children or not, no one could ever take the place of the child you have lost. Although many of our babies may have died from the same causes/complications...each story is unique. So this year when you see our displayed tree and the float, you will notice many snowflakes. May you always remember that your precious child was unique and they cannot never be replaced. It is our mission to help you hold their memory close to your heart, to share their name with others, and to tell the world that your child existed. Whether only in the womb, for minutes, hours, days, months, or years....they will be forever loved as they are celebrating Christmas in Heaven with the angels this year. May you take the time to slow down this holiday season know that while there may be an empty chair around the table, there is not an empty hole in your heart. It is a space full of love for your child.
