The Exponent has offered to drop its claim several times since the videos release if the University dropped its counterclaim. Purdues attorneys issued a court declaration that the original Exponent lawsuit was invalid and want to continue pursuing for reimbursement of legal fees. The University maintains they did not violate Indiana state law by withholding the surveillance footage. The case is ongoing and a hearing on the defendant’s motion to dismiss or strike is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 6. at Tippecanoe County Courthouse.
