The FIFA World Cup trophy arrived into the country yesterday afternoon. Christian Karembeu, probably the only Pacific Islander so far to win the trophy has described it as being a legacy. He says its an example for other sports people in the region to aim for excellence. “For me its a legacy. A legacy for the people of Oceania. Being from where I am from, we never forget our roots. I am from New Caledonia and I am proud to here with you sharing this trophy.
