The faithful dont go to church because they are good but because they realize they are not good. The Faith is defined by a book. It is not the Faith. This book only defines The Faith. Therefore it is a mistake to worship the Book. By listening to the Book, the Word of God, the faithful point the way - somewhat like a compass - albeit a poor quality and inaccurate compass. We dont worship a compass just because it points toward north. Likewise we should worship the God that the Bible and the faithful point towards.
