The Faithful God... If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. - 2Tim 2:13 No matter how spiritually strong we appear to people there comes a time we are faithless. That time we doubt our faith and calling in God. Sometimes our deliberate sins have better part of us and control us. Sometimes we are weigh down with load of guilt and not innocent of great sin. Sometimes the word of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts are not pleasing to the LORD, our rock and our redeemer. Sometimes we delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But we see another law in our members, warring against the law of our mind, and bringing us into captivity to the law of sin which is in our members. All that reveals how wretched man we are without the grace and truth of the Lord Jesus, Who alone is able to deliver us from this body of death. But despite our seldom faithlessness, we are reminded to consider the so great a cloud of witnesses surrounded us, and let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV) > We become faithless when we shift our focus from the love of God in Christ Jesus to ourselves and society. • Prophet Jeremiah lamented and acknowledged that Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. (Lamentations 3:22-23 NKJV) > Great was Gods faithfulness to the nation of Israel that He looked at them, despite their unfaithfulness to Him, and said, I am the LORD, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob. (Malachi 3:6 NKJV) • Great is the faithfulness of God to His people Israel that when they went from one nation to another, From one kingdom to another people, He permitted no one to do them wrong; Yes, He rebuked kings for their sakes, Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, And do My prophets no harm.” (Psalms 105:13-15 NKJV) > The faithlessness of Gods people cannot change the faithfulness of God toward them. No matter who is angry against them, the truth remains that God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it. “He has not observed iniquity in Jacob, Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel. The LORD his God is with him, And the shout of a King is among them. God brings them out of Egypt; He has strength like a wild ox. “For there is no sorcery against Jacob, Nor any divination against Israel. It now must be said of Jacob And of Israel, ‘Oh, what God has done!’ (Numbers 23:19-23 NKJV) • Once God Himself blessed you, no one is permitted to curse you; And God said to Balaam, “You shall not go with them; you shall not curse the people, for they are blessed.” (Numbers 22:12 NKJV) > And speaking of us the church of God in Christ Jesus, apostle Paul said, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, (Ephesians 1:3-4 NKJV) • Friends, what we have in Jesus is superior to everything people of old had from the creation of man; all they had were nothing but a shadow compared to what we have in Jesus Christ our Savior. > Paul said, And we have such trust through Christ toward God. Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. But if the ministry of death, written and engraved on stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses because of the glory of his countenance, which glory was passing away, how will the ministry of the Spirit not be more glorious? For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory. For even what was made glorious had no glory in this respect, because of the glory that excels. For if what is passing away was glorious, what remains is much more glorious. Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech (II Corinthians 3:4-12 NKJV). • Counting on the faithfulness of God emboldens true believers and they use boldness of speech to declare the truth. The truth we preach does not depend on us but on Gods faithfulness; For what if some did not believe? Will their unbelief make the faithfulness of God without effect? Certainly not! Indeed, let God be true but every man a liar. As it is written: “That You may be justified in Your words, And may overcome when You are judged.” (Romans 3:3-4 NKJV) > Your unbelief will hinder you from entering into His rest but it cannot make the faithfulness of God be without effect; The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, So great is His mercy toward those who fear Him; As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. (Psalms 103:8-13 NKJV) • The faithfulness of God is far beyond our comprehension and definitions; Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! “For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?” “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:33-36 NKJV) > God loves us beyond words and actions we can think of; What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?...Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?...Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-32, 35, 37-39 NKJV) • Paul said to Timothy, I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory. This is a faithful saying: For if we died with Him, We shall also live with Him. If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us. If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself. (II Timothy 2:10-13 NKJV) > The Lord cannot deny Himself because of our faithlessness, rather He says; I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ’ ” (Revelation 3:18-22 NKJV) • Let us buy from God through faith the Gold of the Word, Garments of free gift of Righteousness and the Ointment of Grace; Ho! Everyone who thirsts, Come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, And your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And let your soul delight itself in abundance. Incline your ear, and come to Me. Hear, and your soul shall live; And I will make an everlasting covenant with you— The sure mercies of David. Indeed I have given him as a witness to the people, A leader and commander for the people. Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, And nations who do not know you shall run to you, Because of the LORD your God, And the Holy One of Israel; For He has glorified you.” Seek the LORD while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts; Let him return to the LORD, And He will have mercy on him; And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. (Isaiah 55:1-9 NKJV) + Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it; May you always count on the faithfulness of God in all you do; And may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen! (2Cor 13:14. 1Thes 5:23-24) God Bless You!
