The Father loves guiding us and is pleased to show His willing children what to do, because He is personally interested in their welfare. Because He wants nothing but the best for us, we should be mindful that the Lord makes clear the direction we should go. It is times like these as we are seeking the Lord that we need to pause and wait. Waiting upon God is not being passive. It is not laziness. It is not an excuse for avoiding responsibility. In fact, the opposite is true: People who seek God’s will are those who pause to pray, search Scripture, and perhaps even fast before taking action. And in the meantime, they are still serving God wherever they can. In a fast paced ever maddening world, waiting on the Lord is the best road to travel on. The Bible says... Be still and know that I am God.
