The Federal Government is considering banning potentially carcinogenic dyes as more retailers identify the chemicals used in clothing. In March, the ACCC began screening for the dyes and sampled about 300 articles of clothing, including jeans and bedding such as sheets and pillowcases, finding about 3 per cent contained the carcinogenic chemicals. Almost 208,000 items were voluntarily recalled involving about 37 product lines from retailers including: Myer, Target, Target Country, Cotton On, Rivers Australia, Jeans West, Trade Secret and Pillow Talk. What do you think of the proposed ban? ABC News | ab.co/SN5PBN
