The Federal Immigrant Investor Program has been terminated by the Conservative government. The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program is still open to those applicants who have the required managerial experience, and who have net worth of at least $1,600,000 if they can demonstrate a level of French which is at least at the Advanced Intermediate level. Professionals who are doctors, lawyers, or accountants may be considered to have the requisite managerial experience if they employ staff. All other business category applicants will need to apply under one of the Provincial programs. In view of the closure of the Federal immigrant Investor Program, the volume of applications to the Provincial programs, as well as waiting times, are expected to increase.
