The Fiji Football Association is calling on the public to come out in numbers in support for the girls at the 2014 Fiji FA Women’s Inter District Championships which starts in Ba this hour. Fiji FA Women’s Development Manager and Coach, Charlene Lockington says fans are important in the development of any sport. “I’d like to invite the parents and the people of Ba who are free to come out in numbers and support the Ba district and also nearby districts that have teams taking part. I think fans make a lot difference. I’ve been a player myself and when I go out on the field and I see big fan base out on the pavilion, I feel very proud to be out there and each player will do their best’’. Fiji FA had earlier announced that to promote the sport in the country, entries to the grounds will be free. The official opening will be done at 1.30pm at Ba’s Govind Park followed by the first match at 2pm between defending champions Labasa and Tavua. - See more at: fbc.fj/sports/24849/calls-made-to-fans-to-support-players-at-women%E2%80%99s-idc#sthash.o0JiXaqt.dpuf
