This new business will be on Rutherford Street & will be managed by Benjamin J. Dargan -- Twenty years later in 1937 Benjamin Dargan is still in business – Messenger Intelligencer issue of April 29, 1937 - Page 5 - Short Locals – Shadrack Streater age 91 died at his home in Wadesboro & his funeral was at Benjamin J. Dargan’s Funeral Parlor & burial was at Sneedsboro. Mr. Streater had been receiving a Civil War pension whereas William Ratliff is the last colored Civil War veteran in this county
