The First One of the first rescues I had the privileged to be involved with, happened during a closed circle, where one of the participants went into a trance like state being possessed by a little girl. (I use the term possessed, as the incident was sudden and unexpected.) The child no more than seven, had mud in her mouth and was very, very frightened. She was in a dark place and felt trapped, but despite her fear, her main concern was the loss of her shoe. She was more worried about upsetting her mother than the situation she was in. The little black shoes were new. To call the situation traumatic would be an under statement. When I spoke she became agitated. A male voice wasnt what she wanted to hear, but after a lot of reassurance from the ladies of the group they managed to calm her saying her mother wouldn’t be bothered about the lost shoe. I’ve written about this rescue before, but need to mention it again, as it’s important to know how emotional this type of work can be. The Circle worked with understanding and empathy, helping the little girl crossover, but the torment she had gone through you would think hard to imagine, but it wasn’t, because the emotion, memories and fears of the trapped entity are felt by those with the connection. The link between the trapped spirit and the Circle can be difficult to endure at the best of times. Those who undertake this type of work need to be strong and confident in their ability as well as in their character. Now this is where many practicing Mediums may disagree with my assumptions, and if you are one, please don’t discount what I say out of hand. I don’t protect myself! I am protected! Nothing can harm my true self (my Spirit.) As the Medium picks up what the Spirit is feeling, the Spirit also picks up what the Medium’s thinking. If the Medium thinks they are protected, they are, and if they have any doubt that will be picked up as well. There are many visualisation and meditation exercises used to reinforce the protective element. This is why with every Open Circle I incorporate one of those protective exercises. How you achieve this positive attitude is irrelevant, but having it, is a must.
