The Fish Gods were angry today my friends..... Decided last night to make a late morning run today to 75-100 to check on the unreliable reports of sails, dolphin and other aquatics. As the crew (wife and junior) loaded the boat, I went thru my usual space shuttle I may be obsessive compulsive checklist and fired up the genset, then the port engine...starboard engine would not fire. With a diesel it is either fuel or electrical. After about an hour, had the fuel lines purged and motor is humming. Pushed up just passed the CG base to cruise...looking lovely. Took my eyes off the gauges for 30 seconds...same motor with fuel issues peg the temp gauge and motor shut down. Placed tail firmly between legs and idled back to the dock. Only positive is that being close to a large chunk of iron in the engine room for more than 2 minutes that is unusually warm is you tend to lose quite a few pounds of excess fluids. Working on replacing them now. This is the same vessel that made the same trip just 3 weeks ago without a hiccup! And that was with 8 somewhat compromised KAs down for a reunion. May need to review my pre-launch checklist again...... Sailfish....I have your number and September is almost here! I do love fishing....
