The Flaming Lips have collaborated with Yoko Ono on a cover of John Lennons Happy Xmas (War Is Over) with Yoko Ono. Ono was famously married to Lennon and collaborated with Wayne Coyne and his band as part of Amazon Primes All Is Bright Christmas album. The 43-track collection also includes Ho Ho Ho by Liz Phair plus contributions from Beth Orton, Lucinda Williams and the Rosebuds among others. The Flaming Lips previously collaborated with Ono in 2007 on another Christmas song, Atlas Eets Christmas. The US band have increasingly become a collaborative project in recent years, most recently working with artists including MGMT, Miley Cyrus and Foxygen on a Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band covers album. J Mascis of Dinosaur Jr. also features on With A Little Help From My Fwends, The Flaming Lips remake of The Beatles album With A Little Help From My Fwends is the latest record in The Flaming Lips project of covering classic albums in full, having previously covered The Stone Roses debut album as well as King Crimsons In The Court Of The Crimson King. Cyrus recently said that she has been writing songs for the follow-up to her Bangerz album with Wayne Coyne, praising his ability to change keys on a whim. (Personal Opinion.....
