The Floorplay New Years event last week was definitely the highlight of my West Coast Swing experience so far! From the social dancing, competing, and even down to fun times getting to know everyone in the community significantly more. Pros and beginners alike!(plus everyone in between) At this event I had the opportunity to compete and was blessed to place top three in 3 of the 4 comps: 1st in the Novice ProAm Strictly, 2nd in the Open ProAm J&J, and its been extra exciting to get 1st in the Novice J&J comp being my first ever placement in that division! Also, it was a crazy surprise to get 9th of 12 in the Florida State Championship. Ariel Penu and I were honored to sit next to all of those amazing dancers and people... I want to personally thank Tommy Gibbs and Renee Erman Lipman for the support they give us youngsters who are learning and competing. Especially me and my siblings(Keith Penu and his wife Ariel). I wouldnt have the open and positive view on the dance without you two. Your love and investment doesnt go unnoticed! And to some of the other magnificent dancers who I have met and who have significantly impacted my dancing so far: Sheven Kekoolani, Agnieszka Maslanka, Danielle Blouin Oates, Hugo Miguez and Stacy Kay, Stephen White and Sonya White, Jimmy Cindy.... I appreciate all of you and your friendship very much, and I look forward to the many more dance adventures that await!!
