The Florida Board of Bar Examiners disagrees. The board, which assesses law school graduates’ fitness to practice law, wants the Supreme Court to pass a rule prohibiting convicted felons from seeking Bar admission, even if their civil rights are restored. The current threshold is “too low,” bar examiners said, noting that a convicted felon cannot be a state law enforcement officer but could practice law.
