The Four Great Men of Genesis: 1. The first patriarch was Abraham. He came from idol worshippers. The Chaldeans who were moon worshippers. Sometimes we want to think darkness is a picture of death, BUT untrue, it is only a shadow of death. Since the moons light is a reflection from the sun (Son), we are not in death, but only in the shadow of it Eph.4:13. Our Adam is dead, but we still reflect him at times. 2. Isaac was second. A Son of promise with numerous comparisons to Jesus. Married a gentile, carried wood for sacrifice and many more. Our submission will change us to the image of Gods Son. Isaacs nature brings a new nature. This son, Isaac (us) will persecute the son of the flesh, Ishmael and cast him out of the Fathers House. He will live but has no authority or inheritance. Gal. 4:21-31. 3. Jacob- The one who had a spiritual transformation. Jacob had a twin brother Esau, both were seeds of the same father and mother, but one was close to mother (picture of church), the father is a picture of God. One loved the world and what it could give its carnal appetite. The other was a cheat, manipulator, liar, thief, all the things we were, but an encounter with God, at the Jordan River which means descending, going down, he was changed forever. The Jordan is a place of death, spiritual transformation. Here, out of death to self comes life. Jacob becomes Israel whose name means Prince. 4. Joseph - Suffering and Glory. His name means adding, increase. Who Jehovah adds to, He shall increase progressively. Joseph, a picture of us the church. We suffer death to self but bring God Glory. He is the greatest example of Christ in the Old Testament. So in these four men, we have a photo of Gods plan. He is a Father to us - Abraham. He is giving a Son to us - Isaac He transforms us - Jacob to Israel - making us a Prince. He will create a perfect bride - Joseph - The Power revealed and manifested to our brothers Start watching in early January on You Tube for a teaching on the Book of Revelation.
