The GOP has convinced a large portion of the public that unions are their enemy, that every additional dollar a union member makes is a dollar taken out of their (the white voters) pocket. The reality, of course, could not be more opposite. The insatiable greed of the ultra rich, whose Congressional puppets refuse to raise the minimum wage or extend unemployment benefits and who relentlessly try to destroy the Food Stamp program and other earned benefit programs like Social Security and Medicare, is the real enemy of white middle class, and soon-to-be former middle class, voters (as well as everyone else). But good luck trying to convince struggling Republican workers of these unassailable facts. They have been programmed for so long to believe that their well being is threatened by the poor, the unemployed, and people of color (other than John Boehner) that they cant see the truth thats cascading directly in front of them. As Dave Ninehouser pointed out below, the Fox Propaganda Channel and right wing talk radio combine for a large percentage of what Ailes us. So whose fault is this mess? Fault can almost exclusively be ascribed to Democrats, who allow all the lies to continue to be perceived as the truth and who dont controvert this load of bullshit that the public has been sold. So, its up to you, Mr. President. This is your last chance to save at least the last two years of your second term. This years elections are not going to be decided in November. Theyre going to be decided Tuesday night.
