The Gold Coast Bhakti Centre flower chariot is a replica of the ancient chariots from India. The cart, the canopy and the Wheelwright wheels, were custom hand built by John Jordan on the Gold Coast. Every July in Jagannath Puri, eastern India, the chariots are still used in one of the biggest flower festivals in the world. In 1967 during the flower power era, for the first time in the western world, the flower chariot was pulled through the streets of San Francisco...now, 47 years later, the Jagannath flower chariot, which is pulled though major cities like New York, Paris, Melbourne and London will be pulled through the streets of Toowoomba.
