The Good Samaritan Rescue Mission is looking to hire a Christian individual who will be guided by our mission statement, “Expressing God’s love by reaching out to the hurting and homeless of the Bay area by providing shelter and care, by developing a community of support, and by proclaiming the Gospel of Christ”, for the following position: Food Service Assistant: Part-time position, approximately 12-20 hours per week, including weekends. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with preparation and serving of meals in a timely manner Responsible for the cleaning and upkeep of immediate work area Maintain consistent dialog with the Food Service Manager in regard to donations received and to make aware of supplies that are needed prior to their depletion Preparation of food baskets for individuals with referrals and/or proper identification Properly and promptly store all food Job Standards: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Should have previous food service experience Must maintain a neat, well groomed appearance with the wardrobe appropriate for work in the kitchen Ability to verbally communicate with guests, the public, volunteers, and other members of the staff Ability to read and write English and document transactions Must be honest, dependable and exhibit a cheerful and caring manner Those interested in applying may fax or email a resume to (989)752-1748, attention: Karen Middleton or [email protected] by August 20th, 2013.
