The Good Shephered. Jesus declared Himself The Good Shephered - TopicsExpress

The Good Shephered. Jesus declared Himself The Good Shephered citing that He lays down His life for His sheep, and He knows His sheep and His sheep also knows His voice. From John 10:1-2 He said, He who does not enter by the gate into the sheepfold, but climbs up some other way is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the gate is the shepherd of the sheep. At some point Jesus said, I am the Gate of the sheepfold. In brief Jesus said anyone who preaches by Jesus Christ is the shephered of the sheep, but anyone who does not preach by Him is a thief and a robber. So, who is a shephered and who is a thief today? A shephered is he who stood by the wholesome teachings of Jesus Christ both in word and in deed, which were none other than eternal life that was wrought by God on the cross. But a thief is anyone who invent some other teachings which are not in accordance to the teachings of Jesus Christ, which affirms on other things apart from eternal life which comes by the wholesome message of the cross. From John 10:3 He said, The gatekeeper opens the gate for him(shephered), and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. If you are a shephered, God opens peoples hearts to listen to you. He will give you a mouth of wisdom to give eternal life to the sheep which none of your adversaries will be able to prove wrong - they may not be converted but in their unbelief they will still follow and listen to you. Remember how Pharisees followed to listen to Jesus even in the desert although they did not want to be converted. In John 10:4-5 He said, When he (shephered) has brought his own sheep outside, he walks on before them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice. They will never on any account follow a stranger, but will run away from him because they do not know the voice of strangers or recognise their call. The sheep that we shephered is not the flesh, but the human spirit. That spirit identifies with the voice of God which speaks through a shephered and is irresistable to them, the human spirit cannot recognise human wisdom which speaks through thieves and robbers and cannot be transformed by it. On the contrary the flesh identify with human wisdom and shuns the voice of God through the shephered, which is the truth. Now a person has a freewill either to follow after the desires of the flesh ( to entertain human wisdom which do not profit the soul) or to follow after the spirit (to entertain wisdom from above which gives them eternal life.) On the last day people will be judged by the decisions they made, those who followed after their flesh will be condemned but those who followed after their spirits will inherit eternal life. Glory to God.
