The Goonies is on TV. I dont care about the Goonies, but it did make me me think of the Lost Boys. Anyone who knows me on Facebook knows I have a real soft spot for the Lost Boys. And then I started thinking about Dianne Wiest and how the movie is dated. But do you know what is the most dated thing about The Lost Boys? Is it that Jason Patrick was considered a star? No, thats not it. Is it Kiefer Sutherlands mullet of evil? Not that. Is it the fact that Michael Hutchence is still alive??? Nah. Its the fact that the big evil (played by Edward Herrman) is only 5 years older than his love interest--the aforementioned Dianne Wiest. Today I dont believe a 44 year old male character would be given a 39 year old woman as his love interest. I think shed be at least 10 years younger.
