The Government of Canada has declared May 9, 2014 a National Day of Honour to mark the end of our country’s military mission in Afghanistan. The City of Edmonton thanks the Canadian Armed Forces and non-military personnel for their service in Afghanistan. Citizens are encouraged to wear red and observe a moment of silence at 11:30 a.m. on this day in honour of those who contributed to our nation’s efforts.
