The Great Flood of 2009 claimed all if my china cabinets along - TopicsExpress

The Great Flood of 2009 claimed all if my china cabinets along with the rest of my furniture when it swallowed my house, but the water went down so gently that everything inside the china cabinets was left in a pile of mud and debree, but amazingly, piece by piece, I uncovered every bit of it intact and unbroken. My input or any suggestion from me was not welcome in planning to build the new house, although I paid for it out of my own pocket. (Long story) In short, no flood coverage and no fema (Heads up: if a house is part of a trust fund, its considered a small business, not a residential family home. So yeah, no help from fema, and then you have the trusty ole Trustee. Anyway, the house is tiny compared to the other one, and all of the boxes on antique glassware and heirlooms that I recovered from the mud wont even fit in the new house. I asked for some built in shelving or something that I might display some of it on but there was nothing like that when I moved in, so all of my pretty china and whatnots have stayed packed up or crammed on the one shelf I do have (the top of the kitchen cabinets :-). Anyway, my good friend Julie brought me these pretty shelves and I love love love love love them! Im not done but I wanted to share what I have so far. Maybe it will help some of my friends and neighbors to understand why I was digging in the mud for so long. Its a small corner of boxes off of a huge pile but its some of my favorite stuff & Im so happy to see it. I need some more of these shelves. Theyre perfect, thank you Julie!
