The Great Imposter By: Jamie Copyright © Poem about Temporomandibular Joint Disorder I have a problem with my ears, noise was something I never feared. Tapping wine glass -- cheers Thats enough to make me cringe, binge on depression I HAVE LEARNED MY LESSON. In school, I used to raise my hand. I knew the answers to questions, questions that some didnt understand But here I am, hands down I look around... Nobodys hand is up Nobody knows the answer... My ears ring when its quite, they plug up when its loud Everybody around me is making sound Emptying the dishwasher used to be so easy, but now you should see me! I took it all for granted, My feet no longer planted. I dont stand tall and proud I lay down and make sure its not to loud. Your jaw clicks, maybe even locks. Your ears hurt to, NO DOORBELLS. Please knock. You fall asleep in pain, some do better or worse in the rain Your neck is stiff, your back is sore You feel like you cant take much more Then you come here in our company, its like one big class Hands are up everywhere questions are asked What works for you? What works for me? There will be an answer soon Be patient.. youll see. Youll see...
