The Great Rift Valley & Lake Manyara Given its name by John Walter Gregory, The Great Rift Valley runs through Africa and cuts Tanzania right into Lake Manayara. It is a truly magical place and Lake Manyara, together with Ngorongoro are ideal places to get the best views. Famous for its huge herds of elephants, buffalos and magical bird life, Lake Manyara offers one of the most scenic parks in Tanzania. Inhabited by fantastic birds, charismatic monkeys and olive baboons amongst other animals, you will become oblivious to the time flying by once you start photographing these funny sweet creatures. You might be also lucky enough to spot a lion high up on an acacia tree. Once you leave the forest, the path will lead you to the edge of the scenic valley lake where you can spot the wonderful pelicans, flamingos and even elephants. Happy New Year from Lake Manyara!
