The Great Seal Saves Souls America became the greatest and most blessed nation on earth because of its right dread of hell. At its founding and on three occasions since it was first labeled Columbia (meaning people with God’s spirit) it poured out its heart to God in repentance. Modern America has, to a great extent, lost its fear of hell, rejects the Columbia label and, as a result, struggles to pay its bills, offers its citizens a declining standard of living while parenting among the sickest, most violent and academically challenged children in the industrial world. Powerful expressions such as; “The earth is the Lord’s”, “In God We Trust”, “They’re with Jesus now”, etc. have largely been reduced to hollow clichés. Heaven and hell are real (likely what scientist referred to as parallel realities or a multiverse). The Founding Fathers believed man was right with God by complying with the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God; terms they used in their Declaration of Independence and which they diagrammed in their national emblem: the Great Seal (found on the back of the dollar bill). Symbolically, the Great Seal reflects the beliefs and values the Founding Fathers attached to the new nation and wish to pass on to their descendants. US State Dept. 2003 The Great Seal saves souls because it is an easy to understand diagram of God’s expectations for mankind’s management of His spiritual and material capital (creation and the wealth derived from it); expectations a proud America has failed to meet; paying the temporal and perhaps eternal price. The Great Seal saves souls because it highlights personal and national failings that should lead to repentance; as it did America’s Founding Fathers. Without repentance there is no forgiveness. During those past times of national growth political leaders were often religious leaders as well. If modern America is to recover its health, political leaders must also be of right spiritual inspiration. The Great Seal, America’s official emblem, is a proper inspiration and should be elevated with a national day of recognition; that being June 20 (that day in 1782 Congress approved its design). A few years ago a frustrated conservative politician attending the Wisconsin Conservative Conference lamented regarding our welfare state, “How do I publicly tell my constituents to stop putting their illegitimate children and grandchildren on the welfare rolls and expect to get reelected?” (Paraphrased) Conservative politicians would not be burdened with concerns of that nature if America’s official emblem was displayed in every classroom; explained to every student and received by every parent.
