Company Website: kentech.ie 1)Electrical Field Engineer-a) Responsible for managing a distinct area within the Contractor’s area of responsibility ensuring that work is being planned and executed in a safe and efficient manner to meet the schedule and work standards. The Electrical Field Engineer leads a group of Electrical Supervisors and reports to the E&I Maintenance Engineer. b) Must have more than 10 years experience in Engineering works in the Petrochemical, Petroleum Refining industry. c) Educational qualifications: HND in Electrical discipline or additional standards based qualification. d) Must have a fairly good knowledge & understanding of various process equipments e) Must be able to read, write and speak English (IELTS 7 Equivalent). f) Must be capable of assisting in QA / QC / HSE compliance audits on site procedures and HSE Plans. g) Must be able to work with computers utilising Microsoft Windows and Office suite of packages. h) Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification, Ex standards, and Ex Equipment (CompEx certified). i) Must have 2 years of experience in Electrical Emergency Response tasks. j) Must have 4 years experience in performing Duty shifts in Electrical discipline team. k) Must have proven experience in and be proficient in maintenance of Certified Hazardous area equipment. l) Must be able to organise up to 7 Supervisors and be stand in for the Maintenance Engineer. m) Must be able to organise the materials and equipment for larger jobs. n) Must be able to trouble shoot, test and propose repair methods without any supervision. o) Must be able to plan associated activities for a smaller shutdown WORKS well in advance. p) Must be able to advice, support and replace the Supervisors if necessary. q) Preferably have a working level experience in SAP-PM and CMMS. r) Must be capable to become AEP within 3 months and SAEP within 6 months 2)Electrical Supervisor-a) Must have more than 10 years experience in electrical maintenance work in the Oil & Gas or Power Generating industry of which at least 3 years must be at Electrical Maintenance Supervisory level. b) Educational qualifications: OND or standard based qualification (NVQ level 3) or a minimum of 3 year Electrical Engineering Diploma education (DAE, AMIA or equivalent), or equivalent. Nb. May be required to undertake Competency Based test witnessed by the COMPANY Discipline Engineer. c) Must have a fairly good knowledge & understanding of various process equipments d) Must be able to read, write and speak English to IELTS level 6 equivalent. e) Must be capable of executing QA/QC / HSE compliance audits on site, procedures and HSE Plan. f) Must be able to work with computers utilising Microsoft Windows and Office suite of packages. g) Must have working knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). h) Must have 2 years of experience in Electrical Emergency Response tasks. i) Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification, Ex standards, and Ex Equipment (CompEx certified). j) Must be fully aware of cable design, cable materials used and the handling requirements of such goods. k) Should be able to fully comprehend electrical schematic and single line diagrams. l) Must be able to effectively organise up to 10 electrical technicians. m) Must be competent to work on both LV and HV systems up to 33 kV. n) Must understand HV and LV distribution including UPS , VSDS systems. o) Must be able to trouble shoot, test and propose repair methods without any supervision. p) Must have 4 years experience in performing Duty shifts in Electrical discipline team. q) Must fill all requirements for Senior Electrical Technician. r) Must be conversant with and be experienced in maintenance and inspection of hazardous area electrical equipment. s) Must be experienced in and able to gland and splice cables. t) Should possess an outline understanding of electric motor construction, and fault finding. u) Should demonstrate an understanding of HSSE issues v) Responsible for delivery of tool box talks to the technicians. w) Competent to use cable location detection equipment. x) Must be capable to become CEP within 3 months and AEP within 6 months. 3)Senior Electrical Technician-a) Must have more than 8 years experience in Electrical Maintenance works in the Oil & Gas or Power Generation industry, with a minimum of 4 years as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. b) Educational qualifications: OND or equivalent relevant discipline or standard based qualification (NVQ level 3) or a minimum of 3 year Electrical Engineering Diploma education (DAE, AMIA or equivalent). Nb. May be required to undertake Competency Based test witnessed by the COMPANY Discipline Engineer. c) Must have a fairly good knowledge & understanding of various process equipments d) Must be able to read, write and speak English to IELTS level 6 equivalent. e) Must be capable of executing QA/QC / HSE compliance audits on site, procedures and HSE Plan. f) Must be able to work with computers utilising Microsoft Windows and Office suite of packages. g) Must have experience of working with power cables and requirements for terminating, splicing and cable laying. h) Must be able to interpret job requests, tests to confirm the problem and propose repair methods without permanent supervision. i) Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification, Ex standards, and Ex Equipment (CompEx certified) j) Must be able to trouble shoot on all types of electrical systems and shall be conversant with the use of test equipment. k) Should be able to deputise for the Supervision and act as Leader to less experienced Technicians. l) Must be able to replace / remove electrical machines. m) Must be able to work as a Competent Electrical Person (CEP).. n) Should be competent to work on LV and HV systems up to 33 kV. o) Must be conversant with hazardous area electrical equipment. p) Must have 4 years of experience in Electrical fault finding tasks. q) Must have 1 year of experience in Electrical Emergency Response tasks. r) Must have 1 year experience in performing Duty shifts in Electrical discipline team. s) Should understand HV and LV distribution including UPS ,VSDS systems. t) Must have full understanding of Company’s Permit To Work system and be able to exercise his duties under this system, e.g. in a role as Permit Acceptor. NB: Persons failing Company’s PTW course shall not be designated as Senior Technician. u) Must be able to lead a group of Technicians and/or Helpers. v) Meets all minimum requirements for Electrical Technician. w) Must be capable to become CEP within 3 months and AEP within 1 year. 4)Electrical Technician-a) Must have more than 6 years experience in the Oil and Gas or Power Generation industries, with a minimum of 2 years as an Electrical Maintenance Technician. b) Educational qualifications: ONC or equal in a relevant discipline or standard based qualification (NVQ level 2) or a minimum of 3 year Electrical Engineering Diploma education (DAE, AMIA or equivalent). nb. May be required to undertake Competency Based test witnessed by the COMPANY Discipline Engineer. c) Must have a fairly good knowledge of various process equipments d) Must be able to read, write and speak English Language to IELTS 5 Equivalent e) Must have a good understanding of QA/QC and HSE compliance audits. f) Must be able to understand job tasks and take verbal or written instruction. g) Shall be conversant with working on hazardous area equipment. h) Must have sound knowledge of (IEC based) Area Classification, Ex standards, and Ex Equipment (Basefa or ComEx certified) i) Must have 2 years of experience in Electrical fault finding tasks. j) Shall be able to use test equipment and have knowledge of fault finding. k) Must have knowledge of terminating cables and requirements for cable glanding, laying and jointing such cables. l) Can read and understand general electrical drawings. m) Must be competent to isolate LV drive. n) Must be able to report close out activities & capture work history in CMMS. o) Must be capable to become CEP within 6 months. 5)Electrical Technician offshore-Offshore Competencies Contractor’s personnel who will be a part of Offshore Maintenance Team in Area 1 (Offshore + FGP), shall have HSSE competencies as per Section VI - Health Safety Security & Environment, in addition to their core discipline competencies. The off shore maintenance team shall be assessed by the Company prior to each maintenance campaign.
