The Hafiz, (Title give to one who has all of the Quran memorized by heart). BBC made a documentary on this, attached below. The documentary touches upon madrasas, moderation and memorizing. The Holy Quran is considered by Muslims as the exact Word of God. It has about 114 chapters containing 6,286 sentences. It is memorized end to end in Arabic. Amazingly, many a times by people who do not speak, nor understand the Arabic language.
