The Handicapped Association of Kashmir on Sunday alleged that thestate government has turned blind eye towards their plight withmeasures on ground being taken to mitigate their sufferings after thefloods. The president of the Association told that during the floodsthe office of the Handicapped association was submerged with all thematerial getting destroyed. “We used to provide the vocationaltraining to various handicapped persons but floods destroyedeverything including our office. We have no place at present,” saidthe President of association. He added the Association requestedrepeatedly to the authorities for the timely compensation but no onemade any heed to their requests. “We wrote letters to Prime Minister,Chief Minister, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner andrequested them to end our sufferings but no one did anything for us.”
