The Heat of Silence Once a member of the church disappeared without warning. After a few weeks, the pastor decided to visit him. It was a very cold night and the pastor found him at home alone, sitting next to a beautiful fire. Already knowing the reason for the visit, the man welcomed the minister and asked him to sit next to the fireplace and stood still, "waiting for the sermon." But the pastor said nothing. So just stared at the dancing flames around the burning logs, as if rehearsing some words that never came. After some minutes, the pastor took a burning coal with tongs and left it aside. Returned to his place and remained silent. When the coal was already fading, the pastor threw it back in the fireplace and she rekindled. The home owner, who also had been silent until then, everything looked. Before leaving, the pastor said a prayer and said goodbye. And the man told him the door: - Until Sunday, Pastor! - Until Sunday, my brother. ' I am the vine, ye are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him, bears much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.' John 15:5
