The Herald TODAY. UK Government Minister leaks that Indy Scotland will keep the Pound! Hastily denied by Osborne and our very own Danny Alexander. THE UK Government has been forced to mount a desperate rearguard action after a Coalition minister reportedly said Alex Salmonds plan for a currency union would be accepted in the event of a Yes vote. The unnamed minister is said to have claimed such a union would of course be negotiated, possibly in exchange for retaining the UKs nuclear submarine fleet on the Clyde.
