The Highway of Gold has a new rider from our roads of black tar, not just any rider but an icon. A colourful character with a long grey beard and a sparkle in his eye for a pretty lady and to him, they were all pretty. He had a determination of steel, a wealth of stories to tell, an abundance of fans. In seventy odd years of biking, our Uncle Des accumulated the riding experience that most of us might never experience in a lifetime. Ride in Peace dear Uncle Des and without pain. We know that your restless soul is most at peace when you have the wind in your face. We will miss you. Condolences to family and loved ones.
