The Hollywood Reporter has put together a list of 10 Stars Who You Forgot Were Cast Members on Saturday Night Live. Of course, if youre a big fan of SNL . . . especially 80s SNL . . . you probably already know some, if not ALL of these, but its still interesting nonetheless. Heres the list, along with when they were with the show: 1. David Lettermans sidekick Paul Shaffer (1979 - 1980) . . . He was the SNL band-leader, and then became a cast member for one season. He also returned to host in 1987. 2. Billy Crystal (1984 - 1985) . . . He only also lasted one season, and impersonated John F. Kennedy, Muhammad Ali, Prince and Sammy Davis Jr. 3. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (1982 - 1985) . . . She joined the cast when she was just 21, and spent three years on the show. 4. Seinfeld creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David (1984 -1985) . . . He wasnt a cast member, but he did write for the show for one season, and thats where he met future Seinfeld star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. 5. Robert Downey Jr. (1985 - 1986) . . . He joined the cast when he was just 20, and only lasted one season. He would return to host in 1996. 6. Randy Quaid (1985 - 1986) . . . He only did one season, and during his time on the show, he impersonated Ed McMahon, Gregory Peck and Ronald Reagan. 7. Ben Stiller (1989) . . . He was a featured player, not a full-on cast member, and his most memorable sketch was a Weekend Update segment where he and Mike Myers reviewed Rain Man. (Heres video.) 8. Damon Wayans (1985 - 1986) . . . He only appeared in SEVEN episodes, before he was FIRED for hijacking a skit. He was supposed to be playing a straight cop, but Damon surprised everyone by making him flamboyantly gay, and improvising a bunch of lines. SNL boss Lorne Michaels was not amused. 9. Anthony Michael Hall (1985 - 1986) . . . He joined AFTER doing The Breakfast Club and Weird Science, but he was still just 17 at the time, which made him the youngest cast member ever. He only lasted one season. 10. Gilbert Gottfried (1980 - 1981) . . . He was only around for 12 episodes.
