The Holy Eucharist is a sacrament and a sacrifice. In the Holy - TopicsExpress

The Holy Eucharist is a sacrament and a sacrifice. In the Holy Eucharist, under the appearances of bread and wine, the Lord Christ is contained, offered, and received. The whole Christ is really, truly, and substantially present in the Holy Eucharist. We use the words really, truly, and substantially to describe Christs presence in the Holy Eucharist in order to distinguish Our Lords teaching from that of mere men who falsely teach that the Holy Eucharist is only a sign or figure of Christ, or that He is present only by His power. All Christians, with but few minor exceptions, held the true doctrine of the Real Presence from the time of Christ until the Protestant Revolution in the sixteenth century. Of the 12 Apostles, only Judas rejected the Eucharist (John 6:70-71). Unbelieving disciples leave Jesus AFTER verse 63 in John 6 ... They would not have left at this point if Jesus had assured them that He was only speaking symbolically! This is the only time recorded in the New Testament that any of Jesus disciples left Him because they found a doctrine of His too hard to accept... Only Judas.....
