The Holy Spirit does not convict a christian of sins nor does he - TopicsExpress

The Holy Spirit does not convict a christian of sins nor does he convict the world of their sinS John 16:8 And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 of sin, because they do not believe in Me; 10 of righteousness, because I go to My Father and you see Me no more; 11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. The scripture teaches, that a believer had been made righteous. We are righteous. The Holy Spirit reveal Jesuss righteousness (his love, his goodness, his kindness, his purity) to a believer. We are righteous, and when he shows himiself, we are changed from glory to glory. He does this, because we do not physically see him, so he must show himself to us. This is why Jesus sent the Holy Spirit after he left. The Holy Spirit does not convict the world of their sinS. He convicts the world of their sin (as a whole) - but more specifically - it says, that what he is showing them, is that they do not believe in Him. He does not condemn them - He doesnt expose their sins....He said, he did not come into the world to condemn them, but to save them. He doesnt ever condemn them in any way, but only reveals His goodness to them. He only shows forth kindness and mercy and love to them. He is only revealing his nature to them, so they can see Him, and be saved. He will never condemn them. In other words, what the scripture is saying, about convicting them of their sin; they do not see Him, or His righteousness, or His goodness. They struggle to see it. They think God wants to punish them, but He doesnt, he paid the full price for them. He is no longer holding our sins against us. We are saved when we see this. The price is paid, we just have to see it. When we do we believe it, we are able to receive it into our hearts, and thereby we get saved. They cant see Jesus. In other words, when they see Him (or his nature), through a believer, they see Christ, and they see that they did not believe in Him. They see His goodness, and are awakened to life. The are turned to Him, through seeing Him. They believe in their hearts, and then confession manifests through their mouths. It is connected with through the believers righeousness - they have to see it, in the believer. They have to see the manifestation. We are Gods ambassodors on earth, as if God is making his appeal through us. They become changed. When the believer experiences CHrist, he is changed, and it affect the unbeliever - both of these processes, combined, brings forth the bringing down of the ruler of this world - in other words, his judgement is coming forth, as people see Jesus.....The peoples are changed, and the devil is defeated. Jesus gave the law, to the rich man. It condemned Him, and he went away, unable to be righteous. He could not give a dime. Jesus gave grace to Zacceaus, and didnt ever mention the word repent, and he was changed. He was one of the cases the scripture mentioned he was SAVED - salvation came to HIm. Same with Peter - Jesus filled his boat, and Peter saw, he was a sinner - he saw Christs righeousness, goodness, and generosity, and he was that he did not believe in Jesus - this is how he was saved and changed. Repentance, is not through the law, nor is it through emparthing condemnation, and showing forth peoples sins - the rich man could not be saved, through the law. It only condemns and sends man away - it is the ministry of death, and condemnation. Repentance means the opposite - it means, to see Jesus, it means, we are turned, it means we come to life....It has nothing to do with own effort in turning to Jesus through the law, or our own strenght, we cant come to God, unless, he draws us. He makes the way. Jesus never convicted anyone of their sins - he only revealed his righteousness, where they saw him, and they saw, they did not believe His goodness. Repetance means, ones mind is changed - because Zacceaus saw Jesuss goodness, he was changed and he gave - he was a different person. It doesnt mean to change our mind in our own strenght, it means, our mind is changed. We are changed by seeing Jesus. We are being changed into his image! We are being changed by beholding Him. If Jesus had to convict a believer of sins, it would mean, that he is saying it was not taken on the cross - he would be imputing sin TO YOU. This is not Jesus, this is the devil. Jesus has taken your sins on the cross. He is showing you you are righteous in Him. You are being changed, from glory to glory. Your sins are through unbelief, because you still think you are in your sins - you have forgotten you were washed and cleansed from your sins. You stopped believing, in what Jesus has done. This is what Paul reminded the believers of, when they had unbelief.
