The Hunters and Vigilantes who captured Mubi amongst you, know the truth of what really happened. Even on the day it was announced, I posted disbelief in the bow and arrow story. I accused my military contacts of a set up of our vigilantes and hunters for the revenge of the returning Boko Haram. Why should under equipped hunters be set up knowing the limitations of bow and arrow + jazz firepower? Even with guts, you need equipment. Hunters and Vigilantes were crucial but not as a lone initiative. They were involved in a clinical commando type operation that dislodged the insurgents from Mubi without destruction of property and importantly loss of many vigilante and soldier lives. The militqry initiated matters based on new knowledge and strategy being put to test in Adamawa obviously. The approach was used in Konduga successfully. Are we dealing with a market fight? We are dealing with a war that involved hundreds of heavily armed and mechanized insurgents. There was a process. There had to be tactical plan. Sadly the story came out the way it did and volunteers stringed in droves without coordination. This is a recipe for chaos of the type in Libya and cannot be tolerated or even afforded. My contention is purely investigative and conclusions drawn from the information at my disposal. I own the position. I quote no one.
