The Immortality Project is a $5 million project being conducted by the University of California looking at the Science, Philosophy, and Theology of Immortality. My submission to the project - I’m Dr Janni Lloyd. My interest in health formally began in 1973 when I commenced my medical degree at the University of Western Australia. I spent many years in General Practice with a special interest in the psychological and emotional aspects of health maintenance and disease creation. In 1994 I moved into Alternative / Complimentary medicine. In 1992 I began researching and living Healthy Life Extension and the philosophy of Physical Immortality from many different perspectives – spirituality/theology, alternative medicine, psychology, medical science and quantum physics. The following essay/article combines many of these different viewpoints. HEALTHY LIFE EXTENSION / PHYSICAL IMMORTALITY - THE MASS POSSIBILITY INTRODUCTION Throughout the ages, pioneers have been questioning the accepted belief systems of the populace, and producing major evolutionary leaps: “The Earth is the centre of the Universe” gave way to the understanding that the earth revolves around the sun. “The Earth is flat” fell away when Columbus did not fall over the edge. The Wright Brothers also flew us into another reality as have countless others. I will be suggesting in the words to follow that the belief system “physical death is inevitable” may have a similar fate.. Life is about living with passion and vitality. Creatively following our dreams with fun, joy, love and lots of laughter. If your life can be described in these terms there is no way you would want to become physically incapacitated by age and then die. The scenario of “ageing” as we have known it, illness and death are being questioned from many different directions – medical science, quantum physics, alternative medicine and spirituality to name a few. I have been living and researching the possibility of Physical Immortality since 1992. Let me share with you the insights I have gained over that time. I encourage you to look within, listen to your own inner voice and see whether its softly singing the same melody of life. The notes may vary but the theme of Life, Life and more Life is the same.
