The Indian Act bureaucracy was created to control indigenous peoples in oppressive containment, it has nothing to do w treaty, nor the unrealized freedoms of inherent rights. It should surprise no one that the bureaucracy created to deny inherent & treaty rights would find no value or necessity in holding treaty medals. Although Im sure some who work for and in the bureaucracy believe in treaty, the machine itself is about denying the existence of who we really are...
