The International Committee of the Red Cross in Jordan (ICRC) is seeking to recruit A Qualified Mechanic For its Workshop in Amman. Minimum required knowledge & experience: - High school level or professional I vocational School. - 2 years work experience as a mechanic. - Good Level of written and spoken English and Arabic is a must. - Good level of computer knowledge is a must. - Ability to read manuals and act accordingly. - Driving license. Standard function description: - Repairs and maintains ICRC vehicles according to workload planning and instructions. - Carries out routine works mainly independently. SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: - Carries out basic repairs on ICRC vehicles and maintains generators. - Diagnoses, suggests solutions to- and/or fixes problems. - Lists repairs to be carried and verifies that outsourced workshop carried work properly. - Lists spare parts required according to diagnose and ensures in collaboration with the storekeeper. DUTIES: - To diagnose technical problems to vehicles brought. - To suggest solutions to problems. - To ensure small repairs of vehicles. - To fills in and sign job cards when the works are finished. - To work to highest technical standards with regard to safety, at least to standards comparable with commercial business. - To recover vehicles as required. - To repair and maintain generators as required. - To perform other activities upon immediate supervisor request.
