The International Monetary Fund says the absence of budgetary support by donors has compounded the problem of the falling of the kwacha. IMF Mission team leader for Malawi, Oral Williams said in this in a statement on Tuesday at the conclusion of a fifth and sixth reviews under Malawi’s Extended Credit Facility (ECF) arrangement. The kwacha has lost considerable ground since September and is now trading at K520 to the dollar.
