The International University of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (IUBC), otherwise known as the University for Humanity is the International Blue Cross and Blue Crescent movements mandated University for Humanity is established as a treaty organization of the International Conference of the Blue Cross and Blue Crescent Movement (ICBCM). As determined in the Charter of the University, the mission of the University for Humanity is:to provide humanity with an international university of humanitarian education with the aim of fascilitating and promoting among humanity the spirit of sharing knowledge, skills and understanding among people and to stimulate the use of skills and knowledge to be used to help one another, and to help lessen the effects of disasters and catastrophes on vulnerable populations, in keeping with the noble aspirations proclaimed in the Governing Constitution of the International Blue Cross & Blue Crescent. The vision of International University of Blue Cross & Blue Crescent (IUBC) is to become a network of collaborating University for Humanity centres and activities in different regions, guided by its parent body IBC and the Secretariat of the ICBC and in cooperation with a large number of universities, NGOs and other partners on education and research. The International University (IUBC) endorses the principles of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) initiative, to generate a global movement of minds to promote a new culture of intellectual social responsibility. The IUBC is totally committed to use education as an engine for addressing global problems. We actively support the United Nations Academic Impacts ten universally accepted principles and demonstrate our commitment to advance ten basic principles as follows: 1. A commitment to the principles inherent in the United Nations Charter as values that education seeks to promote and help fulfil; 2. A commitment to human rights, among them freedom of inquiry, opinion, and speech; 3. A commitment to educational opportunity for all people regardless of gender, race, religion or ethnicity; 4. A commitment to the opportunity for every interested individual to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary for the pursuit of higher education; 5. A commitment to building capacity in highereducation systems across the world; 6. A commitment to encouraging global citizenship through education; 7. A commitment to advancing peace and conflict resolution through education; 8. A commitment to addressing issues of poverty through education; 9. A commitment to promoting sustainability through education; 10.
