The Intro Not looking to be the next Maya Angelou for I was born and raised in a different time. I can only read and imagine the world through her actions and rhymes However Im the first poetess Lala Marie Poetry is a lifeline, therapeutic its what allows me to be me As I walk amongst killers, dealers and stealers With no remorse, lifeless, nothing to lose Setting the next generation up to be off course Got me thinking we need balance amongst the government Voting cant be the only supplement Crime still needs to come down Men, women and children are being shot and often drowned Im just one person sharing my thoughts Time is being wasted as we wait on trials, a verdict to determine whos at fault Start with who you see in the mirror Are you happy with results? Are you humble, God-fearing? Or is your only purpose is to get over or make a quick buck Not here to pass judgement but life depends on what we choose Sad that we prey on each other verbally, physically and spiritually causing humanity as a whole to lose ©Lala Marie 2014
