The Jacksonville Jaguars signed fifth-year center Antoine Caldwell and waived/injured center Matt Stankiewitch (wrist), the club announced today. Caldwell was with the Jaguars in May during rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. Caldwell, 6-3, 315, was originally drafted in the third round (77th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans where he played in 39 games with 19 starts from 2009-12. He spent parts of the 2013 preseason with the Bills before he was released on August 30, 2013. The former Alabama standout was a first-team All-America selection and first-team All-SEC honoree as a senior in 2008. He was a four-year starter for the Crimson Tide, seeing action at guard and center. Caldwell attended Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama where he earned all-state honors as a senior. Caldwell will wear jersey number 73.
