| The Job Application | Though Im working full-time as a public school teacher (I know, spare me the surprise), I was looking for a part-time job during the evening to deal with my free time that I mostly spend on facebook which we all know does not earn you anything. And there was this company of Online Bloggers which was based in Manila that took interest on my application. We had an hour and a half of chatting via Skype regarding my application and about the job they were offering. What was surprising on my part is that they could have asked for a Webcam interview where we could both speak to one another which was more convenient instead of just having to call me by phone. Nonetheless, after the said conversation, their HR Rep told me that they were going to call me and asked me what time was I available to receive their calls. That being said, I told em they can call me all day from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon and they agreed. So I waited yesterday for them to call coz they said so. By 5:30, they didnt so I decided to buzz off thinking they actually didnt like the conversation we had through Skype. Now heres the catch, at exactly 6:07, they called twice where of course I wasnt there on my phone to answer it and I checked on it at around dinner time. I didnt bother to call back coz I dont call unknown numbers. And awhile ago, they sent me this email telling me that We called you yesterday AS AGREED and you didnt answer. As protocol, you need to reapply to our company.... It totally pissed me off so I sent them a reply saying how incompetent they are that they dont even know how to deal with appointments properly. And surprisingly, they just called and we talked for about 10 minutes where I scolded them for around 75% of the time for their mismanagement. And believe me, their HR Head, Ms. Stephanie Martinez called me back and tried to get back at me with a hot head. I listened for about 3-4 minutes until she said, Who are you to act arrogant when youre just an applicant? I grinned when these sweet words traveled to my ear piece all the way to the veins of my brain. And responded, Maam, with all due respect. I am a hardworking individual whos willing to jump off the cliff for the people I work with if its the best thing to do in order to get the best results. But if you and your company could not even handle a simple appointment with your applicants, then that goes to show how disinterested you are in looking for ways to improve your organization. The reason why you opened these job vacancies is simply because you are aiming for your company to grow through a large network of people who are competent enough to take you to the top. But if the head is weak, as you could not handle time properly, and lets face it, an hour late for the appointment? And you call yourselves the heads of the company? I could not imagine how the bodys production and output. So, as much as your company says how great you are and how promising the VMG you have established. I say, thank you for your offer and the more than an hour chat we had the other day. But my skills and capabilities will never be wasted on your undisciplined organization. Good day and thank you for calling. (Or I said something worse than that.. I was quiet mad) And until the very minute Im making this post, Ive received 11 missed calls from their company. Now thats what we call MARKETING. LoL
