The Joy of Prayer is also in your thanksgiving W.O.W.~ Learn to pray what originates in the heart of God. He initiates and inspires prayer. Give thanks in advance as you believe what He is going to do. Giving thanks to God can become a singular significance to you in your prayer life. Whenever facing a situation that seems discouraging, difficult or even devastating, allow the Spirit to remind you of the power of thanksgiving. Change your prayer from, “Please, God…” to “Thank You, Abba, for what You are going to do!” Your outlook will change seeing the problem as a possibility for God to act! There is power to transform your perspective. Its not magic, its God! In the first chapter of Romans we see how important thanksgiving is to God. When you observe the lack of thanksgiving results in futile thinking and darkened hearts you can realize that thanksgiving isn’t just a thoughtful thing we do when we feel like it. It is an attitude God has designed for us and intends for us to choose! It is vital to a healthy relationship with Abba. It is living and real. It is choosing to believe that God’s promises and faithfulness are more real than our circumstances. “For the things that are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.” 2 Cor. 4:18 It is also a reasonable act! Besides being the reasonable thing to express, thanksgiving is an expression of pure joy! Burdensome and burdened prayers become out-pourings of faith, hope and love for our Father as we give thanks for what He is doing in our circumstances. Prayer is a joyful act! “I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart, I will enter His courts with praise!!” Let us be ever so grateful for this revelation! The joy of prayer (prayer with thanks) is a privilege, yet a responsibility. Let it become one of our disciplines of prayer. And the church said.....AMEN !!
