Dr. Merilyn Session is the Early College High School Principal of Pineywoods Community Academy/PARAMUS ECHS. She has over 30 years of experience in education, with this her 5th year as the ECHS principal. Merilyn has seen the ECHS program grow from 25 students in 2010 to over 250 students who have participated in the program. In the first two high school graduating classes, the school has seen 14 dual degree graduates, and another 19 students are on track to receive their Associates’ degree this spring. Niki Scaief is the lead course facilitator for PARAMUS ECHS. Niki helps students to coordinate their college schedule and assists students as they organize assignments and exams according to their course syllabus. She also assists students with Internet classes to navigate the challenges of online instruction and serves, along with other PARAMUS staff, in a tutoring role with students as needed. Brice Marchand is the superintendent of Pineywoods Community Academy Charter School. He brings 34 years of experience in public education to PCA and oversees all facets of the charter school operation. He has seen the school grow from 331 students in 2009 to well over 800 students this year. Mr. Marchand is a doctoral resident at Texas A&M Commerce and will complete his dissertation this spring.
