The Kaladan Multimodal Transit Transport project aims to connect the Bay of Bengal to Rakhine and Chin hinterland of Myanmar and there onto Mizoram, India using sea, river and road transport modes to facilitate a development corridor including commerce in Myanmar and also provide transit route to India. The US$ 70 Million Waterway component is being implemented on behalf of the Government of India by M/s Essar Projects India Ltd (EPIL). On the occasion of India’s 68th Independence Day Celebrations on 15th August,2014, EPIL donated Hospital Equipment to the Sittwe General Hospital and Old Age Home as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility.
