The Kannapolis Police Department would like to thank all of those who attended a prayer vigil here at the department at 10:00 AM today to celebrate National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This event was put together by Vickie Wyant Carpenter and the attendance was amazing! We were extremely humbled to have so many citizens from our community take the time out of their busy schedules to honor us and offer up prayers for our officer’s safety. We are very proud to serve and protect the citizens of Kannapolis. Police officers see so much pain, violence, and contempt on a daily basis that it is very easy for us to assume that we nor our services are appreciated. Events like today go a long way to rejuvenate the fire and commitment that brought us all into this profession. Thank you again! Woody Chavis
