The Kansas heat was oppressive and ultimately drove me to move - TopicsExpress

The Kansas heat was oppressive and ultimately drove me to move camp into an air conditioned room in the house for the better part of a week. On the two day ride to Sturgis a cheap motel room was also rented for this same reason. Today however, I’m living back in my accustomed stile—as these photos plainly show—and it is a great relief to be home. I know this may sound strange, but lets see if it can be explained...even a little: Although you may be the kind of person whos never experienced this, if on the other hand you are then you probably know the feeling of despair that comes from being trapped in a life if toil and monotony that just does not seem to suit your spirits truest desire. You may long for freedom and adventure—or any one of 100 other callings-of-the-heart—yet be plagued with doubt and fear at giving up so much hard earned supposed-security and great bounty of material possessions to achieve your dream...and alleviate your pain. This is a painful position to be in; I know from bitter experience. Well, being camped in such lavish comfort by this creek, under this tree, and in such a forgotten meadow is the total essence of the exact opposite of that scenario mentioned above. For me, it is complete liberation of so many worldly possessions and their daunting responsibility. It is the full commitment to ease, relaxation, contentment, travel, and adventure. Also, through the effort of so much persistent practice, I know this easy life uncommonly well and, with so little to loose or struggle to hold together, it offers some of the greatest security I’ve ever known. It is truly good to be home.
